What Is a “Dark Night of the Soul?”
A Dark Night of the Soul is one of the most intensive and challenging awakening experiences one could ask for.
The experience of a Dark Night feels like a death that will never end, and may be considered just as significant and difficult as going through a death–for though the body does not die, a part of the soul is indeed dying.
Though harrowing, the Dark Night is an opportunity for accelerated learning and growth at the soul level.

For it’s as if they have died and will never come back, but they are right there, maybe even living near you or on social media, and it’s a reminder that your bond has been broken!

In order to call in your Twin Flame and truly live an abundant life, you have to heal every part of yourself, including your past. You can’t hold on to the anger from a past relationship. You cannot send hate to your ex and send love to your current partner and be in soul-alignment: Oneness doesn’t work that way! If you don’t heal your energetic relationships with exes, you will be holding on to heavy weight energy blocks. This will attract Twin Flame Counterfeits, Twin Flame Runners, Karmic Soulmates, etc, and it’s not pretty! In order to attract your one true Twin Flame you must heal all relationships, even the most painful and hurtful past relationship that you thought you’d moved on from.
It’s time to heal all ex relationships (and even past crushes!)
Exes are like previous seasons who have helped you cultivate your crop. Some are like spring: blooming you into blossom. Others are like winter–giving you a rest and testing your survival. But all the seasons are important to you, as they make you the well-rounded goddess you are!
Above is a photo I recently re-discovered of me and my first long-term relationship. Enrico was the Italian who Shanghaied me, literally to Shanghai China, where we lived for 1.5 years. These were the hardest and most growth-filled years of my 20s, but I don’t regret them. I didn’t speak the language. The weather was harsh in 2 of the four seasons, and the other two were very short. I was constantly on my last few bit of Yuan–so financially broke that I rode a bike in the streets of Shanghai with 1000s of others where I was the only white girl! A sea of black hair, then me. The blond… It was the most painful relationship to let go of in my 20s, but I did it because I new that there was something bigger for me. But it took me a long time to heal from it, and the way I finally healed was through gratitude.
Accept loneliness as part of a Twin Flame path
Loneliness was something I learned to deal with on a deep level–both in China, and in my relationship with Enrico. At age 24, I didn’t know anyone in Shanghai, and my man wasn’t compatible on the spiritual level. I was starting to wake up, and my spiritual gifts and pursuits frightened him. So I went into my own world and opened up alone, and hid my passions from him in our relationship. It was some of the most exciting stuff and I wanted to share it with someone, but I was still new to the shamanic world and didn’t think anyone would relate.
Loneliness gets healed when you realize that you are never alone. I started embracing my loneliness and slowly it became apparent that I wasn’t alone. I became friends with a dear friend of mine from Germany who would give me psychic readings and supported me so much during that time. I also became content with being the only blond on a block of 10,000 people and feeling OK with being different. What a gift, actually!
I tried leaving that relationship many times. But there was a great deal of love and compassion (and co-dependence) for each other, and leaving love is never easy. I tried packing up my bags and coming back to California, but something kept me stuck in Shanghai for what felt like a long time. At least Enrico had a great sense of humor, and taught me a lot about not taking life seriously! There were many good times, between the bad… I got to go visit his family just outside of Venice, Italy a few times and experienced some of the best home cooked food of my life!
The problem is that for many years after the relationship, I didn’t focus on gratitude for my relationship with Enrico. I would subtly bad mouth him in front of people, because I hadn’t fully been in my power in the relationship and hadn’t expressed my feelings when I was in it. I wish I had been able to heal my pain and focus on gratitude sooner; I would have probably not have attracted my Twin Flame Counterfeit, taken so long to meet my Twin Flame, and have gone through so much drama!
Appreciate the spiritual growth
Life has its ups and downs, but you grow so much on a deep spiritual level, even through your pain.
There is no faking it–sometimes it’s just awful! Like the time I finally had the courage to say goodbye to Enrico and leave him in Shanghai, knowing that I would likely never see him again. But I didn’t cry because it felt done, I had cried so much already. I’d been wanting to do it for a long time, it was complete. And then I cried like a baby saying goodbye to our housekeeper Xiao Ping, my ‘big sister’ who had seen me through my loneliness and pain when Enrico was gone at work and I stayed home working hard at my first business (as a personal trainer and wellness coach, and not succeeding). Being in a relationship with the “wrong guy,” a Karmic Soulmate, seems to call in Soul Family–people who are here to teach you and help you grow. Some of the best friends in my life have come through supporting each other around our relationship issues!
Sometimes you gotta leave and it’s hard. You blame yourself. You have to forgive yourself for what you did then. You chose not to stay stuck in your pain. Celebrate your bravery–you got out!
You don’t need to punish yourself and stick around playing the Twin Flame Runner game: where time and time again you are heartbroken and hurt by men you think is your Twin Flame, or by crushes who don’t requite your love. I see my female clients doing this all the time. They hurt someone in the past so they subconsciously decide they deserve to be hurt rather than getting what they want.
You deserve a deep relationship, with true Twin Flame Love.
Gratitude is one of the biggest keys to attract your Twin Flame relationship
Here is the most important key to letting go of exes and moving into a Twin Flame vibration. It is to ask yourself: What did I learn from this relationship? Instead of putting your focus on how bad he hurt you, what it was like when you were so in love, how can you get him back…focus on what you learned. Maybe you learned that you want to not be abandoned, that you want your beloveds to stick around. Maybe you learned that you have more healing to do around being abandoned that came from your childhood. Perhaps you can learn to find partners who are on your spiritual level, versus finding fixer uppers and karmic soulmates. Here are the questions to ask in a mini 20-second exercise:
- Why did you attract this person?
- What did your relationship teach you?
- What will you NEVER do again?
- What did you enjoy about this relationship that you wish to carry on in the next?
- What were you grateful for about this relationship?
And here is a powerful affirmation to read over and repeat out loud or in your mind to help you clear past exes and attract your Twin Flame:

nce upon a time there was a magical little girl who was tricked by an evil toad into believing that she wasn’t Divinely perfect. He told her that there was something innately wrong with her, and that no one could ever truly love her, least of all her One True Love. Even though the evil toad’s words hurt the little girl to the core, she swallowed her tears and persevered through life, knowing that someday she would heal and find her True Love. The girl grew up to be a beautiful-hearted woman, a gifted healer, and a lover of all things Divine. Though she faced many trials and travails, the dream of attracting her one true Twin Flame motivated her through her healing evolution. She kept her Light shining bright, mended the hurt Inner Child, and realized that it was all a lie — Silly toad! All of us grew up believing in fairytales.
Whether it was Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, or Anastasia, these tales helped us live in fantasy to escape from our own pain and abandonment as children. Yet they have stuck with us in our adulthood, and these tales are only distorted reflections of our hopes and dreams. In order to realize the true fairytale, we must deprogram the distortion and clarify our realest version of Happily Ever After. In this blog, I help you do just that if you so wish!
Deprogramming Cinderella Syndrome
Someday My Prince Will Come…Sure, that’s true, but not if you sit back on your laurels in your silly watchtower being trapped by your evil stepmother or queen (the false feminine, as opposed to the Divine Feminine upholding Divine Truth). Someday was a great idea, until someday came along and brought us lots of pain and heartache when we tried to squeeze a Happily Ever After out of the wrong mate, potential partner, or crush obsession. Ouch. Heartbroken and disappointed a few times over, yet that’s what it takes to learn the lesson. That no matter how hard we try, no man, person, place, or thing can heal us until we are willing to do the “dirty work” within ourselves. It is Lightwork actually, even when it seemed dirty and painful at the time, the results are so bright little Cinderella birdies will wanna flutter all around.
Through fairytales, we learned the main distorted message: a damsel in distress can be saved from all evil, entrapment, and from being neglected and abandoned, simply by attracting a handsome prince! In a nutshell, fairytales, though romantic and love-inspiring, teach a distorted message and false promises that can create a lot of heartache and relationship disfunction. Or even divorce… That is not so romantic! To inspire True Love, we must re-write fairytales in a way that empowers us–girls and women–especially the Inner Child. Ultimately, our fairytales must emphasize the harmonization of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine within. The balance between independence and inter-dependence will triumph over disfunctional co-dependence forevermore.
Healing Cinderella Syndrome
Yes loves, it is time to transition out of Cinderella Syndrome, from Damsel in Distress into Twin Flame Love! These relationships will truly be Awakened ones, and hold full potential for true Happily Ever After. In truth, we Cinderellas out there have to “save” ourselves first. Being self-saved Power Priestesses makes us very eligible and attractive to the right sexy-souled partner. That way he or she doesn’t have to take care of us like a wounded daughter or little girl. Further, no one else, I repeate no one, can actually save us when we are up our damsel high towers when we are too stubborn to save ourselves first. To save ourselves, all it takes is a conscioussness. “I save myself consciousness” instantly dissolves “Save me consciousness”–you will attract an entirely different species of mate. So go do it and enjoy!
Again, to access Twin Flame Love, or any type of love, we must first realize it within ourselves. This can seem like no easy feat, especially when we have grown up in a world where our Inner Child was scarred, scared, and felt separated from the Sacred. However, that was then and this is now; the healed and whole Inner Child can now align with the Inner High Priestess to attract her Divine Partner. This is the new paradigm of 2012.
Awakening Divine Love within ourselves requires us to first observe and undo the love-limits that have scarred us and blocked us from receiving external love just like the deep moat of water and thorny brambles surrounding a castle preventing Mr. Right from traipsing in. I’ve included an easy meditation below called “Healing Your Inner Child Fairytale Meditation” that is designed to quickly clear out subconscious blocks that limit love.
The Truth about Happily Ever After
True Happily Ever After does not mean being lazy, easy, or loving without compromise. Relationships takework, just like a magical garden takes energy for it to grow. Like a relationship, you must water and plant and weed. You must decide which new fruits and plants you want to harvest; there are a lot of decisions and actions to take. You must remain commited, excited, and focused on the joy of the prizes that arrive daily. You must be able to cut your losses of the tomatoes that rot on the vine. Further, in the Garden of Love, you may prick yourself on the rose bush on occassion; even when her blossoms are so lovely it still hurts! We are all human, and we must learn from eartlhy lessons.
Healing Your Inner Child Fairytale Meditation:
Sit in a safe space and get into a grounded meditation mode. Relax, sit back, and enjoy the ride. Candles, incense, chakras spinned, and three ohms if you so please!
Imagine yourself as the most spiffy and fantastical fairy-magic castle in your own fairytale. The castle is YOU, and it also represents the home, hearth, womb, shelter, mother, Feminine, Divine Mother, etc. See a giant moat around it, and a scratchy overgrowth of thorny brambles that block out the love of your Divine Partner.
Ouch! Ewwe!
Then, see a thick, heavy drawbridge that attaches to a mighty golden Divine Door to your own Divine Heart of this castle of you. Ahhh… Now acknowledge that the brambles have served you for these many years to protect you from perceived dangers. But also know that you no longer need them, for they were keeping both good and evil out, and blocking you from fully receiving as a High Priestess. Ask your guides to come into the scene now and allow the drawbridge to come down, allowing the door to your Divine Heart to gently open. Then feel the guides’ wisdom and protection watching over you and the door so that your castle is safe, protected, yet welcome to the right Beloved and loved ones who need to pass over the moat. Know now that there is no reason to attract thieves or Twin Flame counterfeits who attempt to steal hearts for you are protected, you are loved, you are love, and you are the Sacred Goddess Temple of De-Light.
There will always be joy, there will always be pain, surrender, and loss in creation, growth, and magic sometimes, in the Divine Garden on Earth, and through the Twin Flame Unions here. But on the whole, Happily Ever After can be had, as long as we align with
God/Goddess and Divine Love that begins within. I bless you and praise you for being the brave little girl who is awakening fully to her Divine Feminine light as we speak!

Applying Twin Flame Law of Attraction to attract your Twin Flame or soulmate is great, but you can’t do it using Twin Flame affirmations, visualization and energy work alone. Mr. or Ms. Right won’t show up up on your doorstep unless you put in a little effort in the ‘real world’ too. Here are four sizzling hot tips to help you meet your Twin Flame fast by playing big, bold, and fearlessly in your Twin Flame dating world!
Tip Number One: Just get the F$%k out There!
I know you might not want to face it, but you’ve gotta start taking action and get moving, shaking, and dating if you haven’t been lately. The molecules should be dancing and spinning at an ‘I am dating and ready!’ frequency in order for your Twin Flame to arrive in your world. We High-Healed Priestesses can often get lazy when it comes to dating because we get stuck in the spiritual world and often hide there. We make vision boards, write our Twin Flame affirmations, and never get around to actually dating…
Who cares if you’re pretty, popular, or perfect? You deserve love now because you are a Divine creation of the Creator!
Take bold little steps every day. For instance, when you’re in line at the grocery store and like someone, casually chat with him/her. Or even ask him out! Flirt with people by asking them where they got their clothes. Men often like really dumb questions, so don’t get hung up on the words. A simple smile often will do to get things started.
One of my favorite pick up lines that really works is saying this word with a smile: “Hi!”
My friend Rhea needed to snag her crush before he walked out of the door on the night we did her Twin Flame activation ritual (we were in a pub and it seemed as if her crush was going to leave soon). I told her to run up to him fast and talk to him, and suggested she ask him something random. So she asked him if he was from Texas. He said No, he was from Sweden! Flattered by her bravery, it was love at first sight, they moved in together within a few weeks, and it made one of my favorite Twin Flame success stories success stories!
What do you have to lose? Be bold and playful. Ask him/her to ask you out. Joke and use physical touch to get his attention, even just a little pat on the back or graze of your hand on his. Men love being lightly showered with touch and attention, as do women!
Approach your fears online if it calls you
Ain’t no shame in going cyber-lovin’! Go Twin Flame online dating if you haven’t tried it lately and you feel open to it. A lot of women resist online dating, but a whopping one third of U.S. married couples met online! This third may not be you just because you decide to hit up the internet for a few dates. If you totally don’t resonate with online dating, just go onto one of the websites and “shop” for men as an exercise, women always get a giggle from this at least, and it puts us in a dating energy. You may browse OK Cupid and not even have to go on an actual date there to meet your soulmate, but the cyber dating energy can be good. It’ll help you get out there, out of your head, possibly out of your house, and back in the dating pool again if it’s been a while. I’ve heard of some women signing up on spiritual dating sites and then randomly meeting their spiritual partner offline a few days later because they put the energy out there!
Resistance to Success: Online Dating Success Story
My client Jenna hadn’t been on a date in over 6 years. Though she was an amazing goddess–smart, bright, successful, beautiful, and loved to travel, she’d hit a bad heartbreak and then a rut. Before that, she’d dated a slew of bad boyz who didn’t honor the amazingness that she is. She was so super resistant to going online dating, but I told her to get over it and just try it out. So, we worked together on getting her on *a date* to get her back into “dating shape.” So she posted her profile on OKcupid.com, and within a week she’d dated two really great guys! Her skin glowed, her confidence started coming back, and she felt sexy again. Guess what happened? Within only a few short weeks, she met handsome Seth, her awesome soulmate/Twin Flame partner and they lived pretty darn happily ever after, and have two gorgeous Starchildren.
Moral of the story: get online asap, even using Facebook as your safe playground. Especially if you haven’t tried online dating, or if you have been dateless for more than a year. Try out a new site if you have been glued to the same one and haven’t been getting results. Start taking action, it’ll get the energy moving.
Various clients and friends of mine who have been through a dating dry spell will initially get online as a tool to get the juices flowing. Then, with boosted confidence, they’ll randomly meet a guy at the coffee shop, or notice someone at work and end up dating offline, thinking “Why haven’t I met him before!?” Boys attract more boys through the Law of Male Competition. Everyone wants a queen bee. Moral of the story: online dating breeds more dating! Get out there and try it out.
Bottom line: be bold and do things you don’t normally do.
You don’t have to go online, it’s just an option. What’s more important is to just get out there and spread your love! So also do things just for you that knock your socks off, that are outside of the box. Take a salsa class, or cooking lesson, or hit up a comedy club with a new friend. Try a vegetarian meetup or start your own one. Get out of your boring daily/weekly rhythm to bring in fresh romance energy. Maybe even get far far away… Take a Twin Flame pilgrimage to that country you’ve always wanted to see! It doesn’t hurt to travel to meet your Twin Flame. Dress a little sexier if you’re normally in sweats… Do something that gets you out of the house even on a chilly day. Girl, just take your pick, make your move, and dive into bliss!

Tip Two: Don’t Worry About Getting Rejected
Although it goes against our natural instincts, getting rejected is the best medicine to attract your Twin Flame. It means that you’re able to love yourself most of all when it appears that God (or in this case, some man or human specimen) doesn’t love and adore you back.
Who cares if he doesn’t like you back?! Go find someone who will! In truth, you are God’s lovechild, and there’s no reason not to be loved… However, you do have to realize the somewhat harsh fact that you simply won’t be loved in that soulmate way by all beings because that’s just how it works – and it would be really complicated. Would you want three million karmic soulmates knocking on your door? I think not! It’s funny how obsessed we become about not being rejected, when truly the main goal should be to get accepted by our one true perfect match.
Finally, I work with many women who have suffered from body image/self-esteem issues, like I have myself. We beat ourselves up for not being perfect and convince ourselves that we have to change in order to get an attractive guy to love us. Don’t fall for it! It was all a misinterpretation from a shampoo ad campaign you watched in the 80s. Real men want real women; humans like honest and real organic beauty more than sliced and diced makeup perfection. Despite what the cosmetic sales people or plastic surgeons may tell you (it’s probably for their children’s college tuition, so don’t take it personally).
Just a little beauty accenting and color highlights for fun and play is OK. Don’t go overboard. Allow your own true beauty to shine through to attract your Twin Flame with your authentic self. If he rejects you because you have a zit or some larger pores or a cellulite butt like I have, move on; that’s not true love! Your Twin Flame will love all of you and find you absolutely sexy.
